Ever since casino games were invented, there have always been people who try to beat the system. The obsession began in 1654, when mathematician Blaise Pascal was called upon by a friend to help with a wagering proposition. Ever since then, other brave souls have devised their own plans, creating a series of betting systems that allow players to maximize their profits based on the way that they choose to increase or decrease their bets.

Now, in the 21st Century, there are dozens of betting systems that players can use while gambling at both land-based and online casinos, the most profitable of which are Positive Progressions. These systems operate under the notion that players who bet more when they are winning will ultimately earn more money, often requiring players to slowly increase their bets with each winning round.

The most popular betting system at online casinos is the Paroli System, in which the player must bet according to a determined number of wins. For example, if you choose three wins, you would double your bet on each consecutive win until you get to three in a row. Once that happens, you have to start over again from one.

Another popular system is One Half Up, which does not allow players to increase their bets until they win two rounds in a row. Once this happens, they can increase their bets by 50% of their original bet until they lose. Then, they must return to their original bet.

It has been argued that these systems are not effective. However, with the onset of online gambling, players can more carefully focus their attention on carrying out these systems successfully.
